Jennifer O. Pernas, Founding Partner
Ms. Jennifer Pernas was born in Colombia and educated in the U.S. She earned her undergraduate degree from Florida International University (FIU) and her law degree from Indiana University Maurer School of Law. While attending law school, she was a founding member of the first LGBTQ clinical project in the Midwest. In 2019, Ms. Pernas was honored to be named a Consulting Attorney to the Mexican Consulate in Detroit, Michigan. She regularly goes to the Consulate to give talks to the community on Know Your Rights topics as well as possible immigration options. In addition to helping families navigate the immigration system, child custody, and divorce proceedings.
A core area of expertise for Ms. Pernas is employment-based immigration with an emphasis on healthcare immigration. Ms. Pernas recently spoke as a subject-matter expert on Schedule A Updates relating to Physical Therapists and Registered Nurses as well as H-1B Specialty Occupation Updates at the 2021 American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) Chicago Fall Employment Conference.
